What makes life tick? Medical Engineering Association, endorsed by Save a Child's Heart Israel with the support of Politehnica University of Timisoara, DJST Timis ... (full list of partners) is organizing between March 1st and August 1st 2011 a number of important humanitarian activities, many of them for the first time in Romania.
Romania is one of the countries that have benefited and continues to benefit from Save a Child’s Heart Foundation support. Since 2001, 25 children coming from poor families have benefited from heart surgery, which gave them hope and a second chance at life. Considering all the announced investments in the health system in Romania, international statistics place us on non leading positions regarding the quality and why not, the diversity of the medical services accessible to the population.
Ever since its beginning, one of the main objectives of MEA was to promote valuable initiatives and to support a number of public awareness programs concerning various medical/ social aspects.

Medical Engineering Association with the support of „Politehnica” University of Timișoara, Mechanical Engineering Faculty and the Centre for Modelling the Prosthetic Appliances and Surgical Operations on Human Skeleton CMPICSU organized the Interdisciplinary Conference „Medicine and Technology - between Research and Practice”, the 2ndedition. This conference had the purpose to highlight the importance of technology in the evolution of medicine, from medical investigations to therapeutical methodes, from research to clinical practice. The papers with different topics from the medical and medical engineering fields, create an overview of the medical practice and research. The 2nd edition of the conference tooked place on 10th of December, starting from 10:00, at The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, room 196. |

The 21st European Students’ Conference was organised at the University of Medicine, Charite, in Berlin, Germany,during 13th and 17th of October 2010. This scientific event gathered students, PhD students, specialists, young scientists, graduate students, post-graduate students, and persons interested in biomedical research from all over the world. Having as main topic “Dimensions of Cancer – from micro to macro”, the conference created a platform for scientific sessions, workshops, lectures, encouraging interdisciplinary approach to modern sciences and highlighting 300 years since Charite was founded. |
